This Privacy Policy explains how Crowd Says ("Crowd Says," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our app, website, and related services.
Information we collect
- Submitted content: votes, poll responses, feedback, support messages, reports, and other content you choose to submit.
- Usage information: app interactions, viewed polls, votes cast, feature usage, referral/source data, and approximate session activity.
- Device and technical information: device type, operating system, app version, IP address, anonymous device-linked identifiers, crash logs, diagnostics, and performance data.
- Notifications: push notification tokens and notification preferences if you choose to enable notifications.
- Optional information: photos, media, contacts, or location only if you choose to provide them or grant permission for a feature that uses them.
Crowd Says does not currently create end-user accounts, usernames, passwords, or login credentials.
How we use information
- Provide, operate, secure, and improve Crowd Says.
- Display polls, count votes, and maintain anonymous streak/stat records.
- Personalize content, recommendations, and app experience.
- Detect spam, fraud, abuse, security incidents, and policy violations.
- Respond to support, safety, privacy, and data deletion requests.
- Send service notices, updates, and optional notifications.
- Analyze app performance and usage trends.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
How we share information
We may share information with:
- Other users: aggregated poll results and content you choose to make visible.
- Service providers: hosting, database, analytics, crash reporting, email, moderation, support, and security providers.
- Legal and safety parties: when required by law or when needed to protect users, Crowd Says, or the public.
- Business transfers: if Crowd Says is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets.
We do not sell personal information in the ordinary meaning of the word. If we add advertising or tracking features that require additional disclosures or consent, we will update this policy and in-app disclosures.
User-generated content
Crowd Says is a social polling app. Polls, answers, and other content you submit may be visible to other users depending on the feature used. Do not submit private information you do not want others to see.
Data retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, and operate backups. Some deleted content may remain for a limited period in backups or logs before being removed according to our retention practices.
Your choices and rights
- Manage notification preferences in the app or device settings.
- Request deletion of anonymous device-linked data through our data deletion page.
- Contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or portability where applicable law provides those rights.
Children
Crowd Says is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
International users
Your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. These locations may have data protection laws different from where you live.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date and, when appropriate, provide additional notice.
